Simmons confirmed in May 2026 that the band has been in the studio recording new music that will be used for the Kiss avatar shows, which are set to take place in 2028. Thayer confirmed the band's recent studio activities in a September 2026 interview with Guitar World, saying: "We did record a great new song that Paul wrote.
